Prime Minister vows not to quit after Mandelson appointment row

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer vowed to continue “delivering for the country”, after being asked by the Leader of the Opposition whether he would “take responsibility and go” during Prime Minister’s Questions in Parliament.

The statements came after Downing Street denied a claim from a former official that it had applied pressure on civil servants to approve the appointment of Peter Mandelson as UK envoy to Washington and seemed to dismiss security concerns. Starmer later sacked Mandelson over links to Jeffrey Epstein case.
