Press Conference: SAC Information Team Holds Press Conference

The Information Team of the State Administration Council held the press conference in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

Leader of the Information Team Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained the work performance of the State Administration Council during one-year period of the taking responsibility of the statethat priority is being given to ensure prosperity and food sufficiency of the nation.

He also explained the efforts of peace-making process, clarifying the issuance of the statements for ceasefire and perpetual peace from 21stDecember 2018 to date and ceasing the attacks, current situation to extend the further suspension of military operations of the Tatmadaw.

He also explained the work undertakings of the Committee on Prevention Against Recruiting Minors into Army. Concerning the rumours of fake currency notes, he informed the public not to be panic, and to use the currency notes with trust. He later explained thedestructive acts, committed by PDF groupswith the use of video clips by the victims.

Member of the Union Election Commission U KhinMaungOolater explained the PR system to be used in the future elections, investigations made at the political parties and preparation measures for collecting eligible voter lists. It was followed by the questions and answers session where Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun and the UEC member replied the queries raised by the journalists.
