Press Briefing: SAC Information Team Holds Press Briefing In Nay Pyi Taw

The Information Team of the State Administration Council held a press briefing in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. The Information Team Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained the working visit of Cambodian Prime Minister to Myanmar, mentioning the Cambodia's assistance for Myanmar's efforts in fighting against COVID-19 and peace making process based on the experience of Cambodia.

He continued to explain about the progress of peace process, saying that this year has been designated as the Year of Peace, according to the SAC Chairman's New Year Greetings. Efforts will be made to start the new paces for restoration of the peace as it is mentioned in the fourth point of the five-point road map. The Government will make efforts for ending armed conflicts through negotiations as per NCA agreements.

The explanations also included the allowance of Yuan-Kyat direct payment at trading purpose in Myanmar-China border, condition of Omicron variant detection in the country and the effort for education progress as well as the terrorist acts committed by the NUG/ CRPH, along with the confession made by the arrested culprits.

Member of the Union Election Commission U Khin Maung Oo also explained the work undertakings by the UEC and future plans including the process of scrutinizing the existing registered political parties and the action taken to those involved in electoral fraud. It was followed by the questions and answers session, and officials replied the queries raised by the journalists.
