Presenting cash donation: Mon State Chief Minister inspected renovations of pagodas

The Mon State Chief Minister U Zaw Lin Tun on 12th December encouraged the contribution of labor by the departmental staffs, students from Sports and Physical Fitness (Mawlamyaing) and the well wishers carrying marvel slabs to fill on all parts of platforms of the KyaikThanLan Pagoda.

Next, the chief minister inspected the preparations for the increasing height of historic NaGaMauk  pagoda, renovation works and hoisted umbrellas to the top of encircled pagoda. Then, the chief minister attended the cash donation presenting ceremony for gilding full circumference, sticking gold plates, major innovation of diamond bud, ornamental pennant shaped vane and umbrella of U Zina  pagoda held at prayer hall of the pagoda.

First, the congregation observed five precepts administered by the Presiding Sayadaw of Shwe Pariyatti SarThinTaik and took the recitation of the Paritta Suttas by the Sangha. Next, the chief minister, commander of south-east command, state ministers, state chief justice and state advocate general and officials presented offertories to the Sangha.

Then, the well wishers presented 220 million Kyats of cash donation for gilding full circumference of U Zina pagoda and shared merits gained after taking the sermon from the Sayadaw. After the ceremony, the members of pagoda renovation board clarified the hoisting of new diamond bud and ornamental pennant shaped vane atop the pagoda and the chief minister taking the guidance of the Auwadasariya Sayadawgyi and coordinated necessaries.

At the post COVID-19, the all-round renovations for the prominent and historic pagodas are being carried out for the pilgrims to pay homage to the pagodas with peace and happiness.
