Preparations Underway: Meeting on disaster response and diseases prevention

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win addressed a virtual meeting on preparations for disaster response and diseases prevention during the rainy season.

In his address, the Union Minister called for efforts for preparations to accelerate the public healthcare services by storing medical supplies not only at hospitals but also at IDP camps for diseases treatment too and also to conduct drills for readiness in case of disasters.

He also stressed the importance of connection between public healthcare departments and emergency control centers, readiness of district/township rapid response teams, safety and cooperation with the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and social organizations.

He also pledged to provide assistance for all work processes. This meeting continued with sector-wide discussion on matters including formation of rapid response teams, emergency control centers, distribution of medical supplies and cooperation with relevant organizations.
