Power cut by shooting may be restored by Thursday

Power should be restored by Wednesday night to thousands of homes in a central North Carolina county that have been without electricity for several days after an attack on the electric grid, a representative of Duke Energy said at a briefing Tuesday.

An earlier estimate for power restoration was for Thursday morning. Jeff Brooks, Duke Energy spokesperson  said "We have made very good progress today and are moving that estimate up to Wednesday night just before midnight. So we will hope to have all customers back on by then." There were no major updates for the public regarding the investigation into the attack.
