Power Consumption: Household Electric Meters Exempted For 150 Units Until 31 January

The Ministry of Electricity and Energy has exempted electricity bill for 150 units until 31 January, to relieve economic and psychological hardships of public amid COVID-19 to a certain degree. The Chief Executive Officer of Mandalay Region Electricity Supply Corporation said that this program is arranged by the State for the people to reduce the outcome during COVID-19 period.

In 2020, most of households have been exempted in Mandalay Region. There are over 382,000 households in rural area, using household electric meters in the Region.

In urban, there are over 249,000 and a total of houses that are installed household meters in the region are 631,590. A total exempted meter units in the Region from April to December 2020 were 772 million units and the exempted amount was 55.746 billion kyats.
