The Union Solidarity and Development Party issued a Position Statement (1/2026) on January 20, 2026.
In the statement, it’s stated that the Myanmar delegation, led by U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister for the Office of the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and Dr. Thida Oo, Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General, is currently attending the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands, from January 12 to January 29, 2026.
Their actions in addressing the allegations made by The Gambia in accordance with the law, represent a responsible act for a nation and demonstrate a clear desire to respect and adhere to international legal norms. The Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) fully welcomes and supports the effective and decisive confrontation and resolution of disputes concerning the State, based on a belief in legal fairness.
The USDP Party believes that such actions can illustrate the actual truth of the situation and will enable the international community to understand the reality of the events, serving as a vital foundation for building trust. Therefore, the Union Solidarity and Development Party hereby issues this statement to welcome, support, and officially record its commendation of the efforts of the Myanmar delegation representing the State at the ICJ. The USDP further declares that the party stands in absolute unity with the policies and positions of the State.
