Polling stations across Thailand closed on Sunday after a day of active voting in the country’s general election and constitutional referendum. Based on a sample of 3,000 voters surveyed by NIDA Poll Center between Jan 31 and Feb 6, the poll forecasted that the Bhumjaithai Party will emerge as the largest party, securing an estimated 140-150 seats in the 500-member House of Representatives.

The opposition People’s Party was forecast to come in second with 125-135 seats and the Pheu Thai Party, which led the previous government, is projected to finish third with 110-120 seats.
