PM Modi launches major infrastructure projects in Assam

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, launched key infrastructure and development projects in Assam, including the Shillong–Silchar Corridor, aimed at strengthening connectivity across Northeast India. The Shillong–Silchar Corridor is the first access-controlled greenfield four-lane high-speed corridor and is expected to significantly enhance connectivity between Meghalaya and Assam.

Modi also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of an elevated corridor from Trunk Road near Capital Point to Rangirkhari Point in Silchar. The project aims to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity with neighboring states such as Mizoram, Tripura, and Manipur.
