Plenary Meeting: Water Users Association Held A Plenary Meeting

Hsin Thay  Dam irrigation system, the plenary meeting of water users association utilizing water from 2nd ditch of left main canal of Hsin Thay  Dam was held at Aung San Hall in Tatkone Township, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 26 July.

The meeting was attended by the Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr. Maung Maung Naing and council members, director generals, departmental officials and members of Hsin Thay Dam irrigation system, the water users association utilizing water from 2nd ditch of left main canal of Hsin Thay Dam.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said that in the effort for the economic development of the country based on the agriculture, working in association, unity and exerted efforts of the farmers are paramount important. By taking good example of this association, all are urged to extend forming the water users groups and water users associations across the country. Next, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council extended words of greeting.

Then, the director general of Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department U Bo Bo Kyaw extended words of thanks and vice chairman of water users association U Wei Lin clarified the work implementations. Afterwards, the union minister, Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman and guests together with the members of water users association organizing board posed for documentary photo and greeted the attendees to the meeting.

At the second part of meeting, the leader of water users group was elected and the members of association elected leading board of water users association, management groups and executive committee members by voting. Hsin Thay Dam irrigation system, 22 water users groups utilizing water from 2nd ditch of left main canal of Hsin Thay Dam are formed with 437 farmers, it’s reported.
