There are good sales of air tickets for the Bodh Gaya pilgrimage trip for Tazaungdaing period in advance.

It is planned to operate the Yangon to Bodh Gaya flight for 4 days a week every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting the 4th November according to the official of the Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA).

Naung Naung Han, Chairman, Union of Myanmar Travel Association said "The Bodh Gaya pilgrimage season starts regularly in October. This year, it delays one month due to various reasons and it starts in the beginning of November. The Charter flights will resume on 4th and 6th November. There will be approximately 12 flights in November and the bookings are mostly full. Currently, we have planned to operate the flights for four days on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The 7-day or 12-day trip plans are usually drawn for the Bodh Gaya trip. Now, due to the Yangon to Gaya direct flight, it is convenient for passengers. "

According to the Chairman of UMTA, in the past, generally, around 5,000 passengers went to Bodh Gaya per month. Now, about 1,500 to 2,000 passengers will bring to the Bodh Gaya.

Naung Naung Han, Chairman, Union of Myanmar Travel Association said "This year, we expect to bring around 10,000 to 15,000 passengers. The COVID-19 rules are still restricted in Myanmar now. But, in India, the COVID-19 OVID-19 RT-PCR tests have been relaxed. Myanmar citizens who have COVID-19 vaccination certificate (2 doses), they do not need to check anymore. If the COVID-19 vaccination certificate is written in Myanmar language, it needs to be notarized. India grants visa free for Myanmar citizens."

The Chairman of UMTA said that there are many pilgrims who buy air tickets for Bodh Gaya trip during November.
