Physical Fitness: Students Joined Summer Sports Training

Summer Sports Training was opened at the basic education schools during the summer holidays.

At No.6 Basic Education Middle School in Dagon Myothit (East) Township, the summer sports training was opened from 24th March to 6th April.

Fitness Instructor, Dagon Myothit (East) Township Education Office, Myint Myint Khaing said “The training aims for the students to use their free time effectively after the exams, to promote health and fitness, to support in learning academic lessons, to have self-confidence and to nurture the outstanding youths for the nation.”

78 trainees attended for MyanmaThaing or traditional martial art and 5 trainees for aerobic training.

Instructor, Myanmar Thaing Federation, San Oo said “We teach basic techniques of Myanmar Thaing during the training. If they wish to continue to learnt the techniques, they can join the training, opens at the federation.”

There is no limitation for age and grade, and any enthusiast students can join the training.

Grade-8 Student, Sandi Htet said “I’m very interested to attend the summer training, and my parents also encouraged to join it. I have got the knowledge of basic techniques for martial art.”

Parent, Kyaw Ko Ko Aung said “Since it is the legacy of our traditions and also good for self-defense, I let my daughter to join the traditional martial art training. It is very satisfying with the training, and I believe it will be very useful in the practical life.”

The training was jointly conducted by the Basic Education Department and Sports and Physical Education Department.
