Petro, Boric, Lula, Sanchez and Uruguay's President-elect Orsi agree to combat disinformation

The virtual meeting between the Presidents of Spain, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and the president-elect of Uruguay where they agree to fight against disinformation content on social networks, “which fuels extremism and polarization”.

“The leaders outlined joint actions to address inequality, misinformation and the malicious use of social networks and other digital technologies,” according to a joint statement released by the Colombian presidency. The videoconference was attended by the Head of the Spanish government, Pedro Sanchez, and the Presidents of Brazil, Lula de Silva, and Colombia, Gustavo Petro.

The Chilean Gabriel Boric and the president-elect of Uruguay, Yamandu Orsi, were also presented.
