Performing Arts Competition : The 2nd day competition continued in Myitkyina

The 26th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition 2025, being held in Maykha Hall of the Kachin State Government Office in Myitkyina, starting from September 9. The competition began with 88 participants competing in 27 categories and continued into its second day on the morning of September 10.

The competition was attended by the State Chief Minister U Hket Htain Nan, members of the State Government, state-level department officials, competition organizing committee members, and judging panels. They observed and supported the competitions, which included instrumental competitions such as violin, xylophone, saing (traditional drum ensemble), harp, flute, and piano for basic education level participants (ages 15-20 and 10-15, male/female), as well as vocal competitions including Mahagita (classical singing) and dance competitions. They also watched the higher education level female Mahagita (classical singing) competitions.

This Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition involves selecting enthusiasts and experts from townships to compete at the state level. A total of 88 participants are competing in 27 categories across different age groups. Winners from this competition will receive training to prepare them for participation in the central-level competition.
