










Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received the Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) who attended the Peace Forum in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
The EAOs include Arakan Liberation Party (ALP), Democratic Kayin Buddhist Army (DKBA), Kayin National Union/ Kayin National Liberation Army-Peace Council (KNU/KNLA-PC), Lahu Democratic Union (LDU), New Mon State Party (NMSP), and the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS), as well as the NCA Signatories and EAOs representatives.
The Commission Chairman extended greetings, and expressed willingness for soonest implementation of peace process which has been delayed for various circumstances. He said that the meetings with EAOs have been organized during these periods, and agreements have been reached for amendment of the constitution to be in conformity with the current age, which has to be approved in the Hluttaw session.
He expressed appreciation for collaboration in the NCA path, and called for cooperation of all in building a better nation. The EAO representatives also discussed to continue cooperation for peace process through the NCA path under the leadership of the state and Tatmadaw as well as for achieving development, peace and stability in the country.
They also pledged to make collaboration for successful holding of a free and fair multi-party democratic general election, continuous participation in the peace meetings and cooperation with the newly elected government in implementing the peace process and regional development works.
The Commission Chairman stressed the need to have the elected government and Hluttaw for implementation of the NCA, and thus, efforts are being made to hold the election with dignity, correct voter list and participation of all eligible voters.
The NCA is being achieved based on the 2008 Constitution, and necessary amendments will be made accordingly. He also pointed out to implement the democracy and federal system relevant to the country, and urged all to carry out for achieving peace and stability in the country based on the Union Spirit. After the meeting, the Commission Chairman presented commemorative gifts to the EAO representatives and took a documentary photo.
