Peace and Stability: Tatmadaw regained control of Mandalay-Mogok route

Tatmadaw have regained control of strategically important locations and a regional military base along the Mandalay–Thabeikkyin–Mogok route.

It is reported that areas in Madaya, Singu, and Thabeikkyin townships of Mandalay Region, which were previously under temporary control of armed terrorist groups, have been retaken one by one. As a result, the Mandalay–Madaya–Singu–Thabeikkyin road was fully reopened on December 31, 2025, allowing safer travel for local residents and travelers.

According to the report, local people have increasingly supported the Tatmadaw and provided information. Some members of armed terrorist groups surrendered with weapons, citing internal abuses and loss of public support. To reopen the Thabeikkyin–Mogok road, Tatmadaw columns conducted security operations and regained control of several villages between January 11 and January 14, including Nyaungpintha, Poe Zarnwe, Kyauk Hlebee, and Sein Kone village area, along with the regional base.

During the operations, 37 clashes occurred, with 15 bodies, 34 weapons, and ammunition were seized. Some soldiers sacrifices their live while some got injuries. The Tatmadaw will continue operations to ensure security, reopen roads between Mogok, Thabeikkyin, and Mandalay, and improve safe transportation and trade in cooperation with local communities.
