Paying Respects: Retired Senior Military Officers Paid Respects

Families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) paid re­spects to retired senior military officers who attended the 77th Anniversary Armed Forces Day Parade at the Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw, Sunday afternoon.

It was attended by 25 retired senior military officers and 16 wives. On the occasion, the Senior General delivered a speech for paying respects, expressing his delightedness of paying respects to the retired senior military of­ficers at the 77th Anniversary Armed Forces Day.

The Senior General explained discharging State responsibilities as the na­tional duty in successive eras, handing over of duties to gener­ations, efforts to firmly walking on the path of democracy, endeavours of the Tatmadaw for ensuring non-disintegration of the Union, unavoidably assum­ing the State responsibilities by the Tatmadaw, and efforts of the State Administration Council for development of the State.

On behalf of the fami­lies of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), the Senior General and wife, and senior military officers and their wives paid respect to retired senior military officers in line with the Myanmar traditions.

The Senior General and wife, the Vice-Senior General and wife and senior military officers in per­son presented gifts to the retired military officers.

On behalf of the retired sen­ior military officers, Maj-Gen Thura Saw Phyu (Retd) and General Thein Sein (Retd) gave words of advice. After taking doc­umentary photos, the Senior General and wife cordially greeted the retired senior military officers and their wives at the ceremony.
