Paying Homage: President visits Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya

President U Min Aung Hlaing and a high-level Myanmar delegation visited the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya on Saturday.

The President and the delegation paid homage to the Buddha image, offered meals, water, light and flowers. On  behalf of the President, a venerable Sayadaw offered robe to the Buddha Image.

The President and party also paid homage to the Buddha Image on the upper terrace of the temple, offering flower, water and light.

After paying homage to the Mahabodhi Temple in a clockwise position, the President paid respects to the Maha Bodhi tree and donated a statue of Maravijaya Buddha Image. He later made donations for the maintenance and renovation of the Mahabodhi Temple.

Later, the delegation toured the Mahabodhi Temple, feeding the fish in the Muclinda Lake. They also visited Sujata Temple and offered flower, water, light and meal to the Buddha Image. They also made donations for the temple.

The delegation later visited the Mahabodhi Dhamma Yeiktha Myanmar Monastery to pay respects to the Presiding Sayadaw and donate offertories and cash. The delegation members also made additional donations.
