Pardon order (72): Pardon order to artistes prisoners released

The Republic of the Union of Myanmar State Administration Council issued Order No 72/2022 on 17 November.

The Chairman of the State Administration Council has released the pardon order to 11 artistes namely Phone Theik (Actor/Director), Phway Phway (a) Shwe Yi Ko Oo (Actress), Hayman Thu Thu Aung (Model), Mai Min Bon (Director), Hsu Mon (Presenter), Ni Ni Khin Zaw (vocalist), Thiha Phyo (a) Ko Bin (Actor), Thazin Htoo Myint (a) The The (Actress), Htet Htet Tun (Model), Nan Khin Zayyar (Actress) and Yon Wati Lwin Moe (Actress) who were serving their sentences in various prisons/jails under Sub-section (1) of Section 401 of the Code of Criminal Procedures, on humanitarian grounds and understanding the benevolence of the stat in honour of the National Victory Day.

They are pardoned on the condition that “if they commit another offence, they will continue to serve the remaining sentences”.
