Palestinian film won top prize at Tokyo International Film Festival. Palestine 36, a film depicting the Palestinian uprising against British rule in the 1930s, has been awarded the Tokyo Grand Prix, or the top prize of the Tokyo International Film Festival.

The 38th Tokyo International Film Festival, one of the largest of its kind in Asia, opened on October 27. During the 10-day event, 184 films from Japan and abroad were screened. On the final day on Wednesday, the winners in the competition category were announced at a venue in Tokyo’s Hibiya district.
