Pakistan FM in Shanghai for China-led conference on AI

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, traveled to Shanghai, China, for a two-day official visit from 16 to 17 July to participate in the World Artificial Intelligence Conference and push for stronger tech cooperation.

Ishaq Dar officially signed the agreement to establish the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organizationon behalf of Pakistan. As a founding member, Pakistan aims to work with other nations to help bridge the "global AI divide" and advocate for the development needs of the Global South.

On the sidelines of the conference, Ishaq Dar held a bilateral meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The two diplomats backed a stronger China-Pakistan strategic partnership focused on shared technological advancement, AI development, and bridging the digital divide across developing nations.
