Pagoda Festival: The Festival Of Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda In Bago Opened

The opening ceremony of 2604th anniversary Buddha Pujaniya festival of Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda was held at Kyaukpadaung communal hall at the pagoda platform in Bago Township in the evening on April 10.
First, the Ovadacariya Sayadawgyis, members of Bago Region government led by the Chief Minister, region, district and township level departmental officials and the members of pagoda board of trustee attended the ceremony and the congregation led by the Chief Minister observed five precepts from the Sayadaw and took the Paritta Suttas recited by the Sangha.
Next, the Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win clarified regarding the holding of Buddha Pujaniya festival and the chief minister and state ministers offered the offertories to the Sangha.
Afterward, the Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win offered light to the Shwe Maw Daw pagoda by switching the light on.
Then, the Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, Chief Justice Daw Lwin Lwin Aye Kyaw and minister for social affairs U Aung Min opened the 2604th anniversary Buddha Pujaniya festival of Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
The 2604th anniversary Buddha Pujaniya festival of Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda will be held for 10 days from 10th to 19th April, it’s reported.
