







Commemorative ceremonies for ozone layer protection activities are being held in various countries around the world, including Myanmar. One such event took place at the City Hall in Taunggyi at 9:00 AM on September 16.
At the ceremony, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung stated that the ozone layer, which benefits and protects humanity and the Earth, has been deteriorating due to the human activities. Therefore, restoring the ozone layer is a responsibility for all humankind. He emphasized that in the global effort to control ozone layer depletion, which involves cooperation from all countries, our citizens must also contribute to the best of their abilities from individual efforts to collective and organizational strength to implement and support these initiatives.
Following this, a commemorative video clip for World Ozone Day was screened. Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung awarded the first prize winner of the basic education high school-level essay competition, the State Chief Justice presented the second prize winner the Deputy Commander of the East Command awarded the third prize winner with an honorary award and cash prize.
After that, the State Chief Minister and officials warmly greeted the attendees of the ceremony and toured the exhibitions displayed inside the hall.
