Orion 2026 aim to expose troops to realistic conditions

Belgian, Italian, Greek, and Spanish troops joined French forces in the Aube region of France for river-crossing exercises as part of the Orion 2026 military training program.  The exercises focused on crossing waterways and other potential obstacles, including highways, using autonomous vehicles and mobile bridge systems.

Approximately 500 allied troops participated: 200 Italians, 200 Spaniards, 100 Greeks, and additional Belgian personnel. The unit had previously trained together in Romania under the Multinational Division Southeast.. The training also incorporated lessons from ongoing conflicts, with procedures updated to reflect modern warfare requirements and operational flexibility.
