Organized criminals kill at least 25 in Honduras

Honduras authorities said that organized criminals killed at least 25 people in two separate armed attacks in northern country on Thursday. The violence unfolded amid escalating turf wars involving local gangs, drug traffickers, and disputes over palm plantations. 

Local officials told that the exact number of death toll is unknown as relatives removed some bodies before forensic teams could process the crime scene. In a separate incident near the Guatemalan border, assailants ambushed and killed six police officers and one civilian during a clash between an anti-drug squad and alleged cartel traffickers.
