Opening of Training Course : Health Officer-4 training course opening in Myitkyina

In order to fulfill the public health needs of the people within Kachin State, the State Public Health Department has organized the opening ceremony of a Health Officer-4 (Public Health Supervisor-2) training course to be able to recruit and appoint qualified Health Officer-4 personnel for health care operations.

The opening ceremony was held this morning at the Samah Duwa Sinwa Naw Hall within the State Government Office compound. Within Kachin State, the Public Health Department has an authorized strength of over 500 Health Officer-4 positions, but the current appointed strength is only 234, leaving over 200 positions vacant.

Therefore, this training course was opened to be able to recruit and appoint qualified Health Officer-4 personnel. At the opening ceremony, State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan delivered an opening address. Afterward, Deputy State Public Health Director (Disease Control) Dr. Zaw Rein explained the reasons for opening the training course and the plans for conducting it.

The State Chief Minister then presented 2 million kyats for the training course, and for the 120 trainees, provided meal expenses at the rate of 1 million kyats per month during the training period, along with a cash award of 6 million kyats, totaling 80 million kyats. A total of 120 trainees from 10 townships within Kachin State and Indaw Township in Sagaing Region will attend the training course. The training period will consist of 6 months of classroom instruction and 1 year of practical training, it’s reported.
