Opening of People’s Park: Sagaing Region CM opened the People’s Park

The opening ceremony of the People's Park located in Chanmyawadi Ward, Monywa Township, Sagaing Region was held on October 6 in front of the People's Park. Attendees included Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw and his wife, Region Chief Justice and his wife, Region government members and their spouses; officials and staff from region, district, and township departments; towns-elders and local residents of the ward.

First, Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw stated that the site of the People's Park was formerly a vast forested area with abundant trees providing good shade, and it was developed into a park to provide a peaceful and relaxing place for the public. He mentioned that residents and students of Monywa would now be able to visit and relax in the park during their holidays.

Following this, Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, region ministers, and responsible officials cut the ribbon to officially open the People's Park. Subsequently, the Chief Minister and officials gathered in front of the park to take commemorative photographs.

Members of the region government presented honorary awards and cash prizes to the Drum and Bugle group and Pom Pom dance group from No. 2 Agricultural, Livestock, and Basic Education High School for their assistance in the opening ceremony.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister and responsible officials observed the elephant performance and presented honorary awards. They also reviewed the hospitality provided with delicious food and refreshments by the regional government departments, MSME entrepreneurs in Monywa, and associations of rice/oil merchants to the departmental staff and the public attending the opening ceremony.

It is reported that the public park located in Chanmyathazi Ward, Monywa, which was opened, covers an area of over 32 acres.
