









In honoring the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Independence Day, the opening ceremony of new extended two-storey hospital building of KyaikLatt Township People’s Hospital, Ayeyarwady Region was held in the morning on December 16 with the attendance with Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and officials.
First, the Union Minister, Chief Minister, Region Minister for Security and Border Affairs, Director General of the Department of Medical Service opened the hospital building by cutting ceremonial ribbon and the union minister and chief minister unveiled the signboard by pressing the auto button.
Next, the union minister and chief minister sprinkled the bronze inscription with scented water.In his opening remark, the Union Minister for Health said the ministry is focusing on the acceleration of public healthcare while providing quality healthcare by fulfilling the requirements of medicines and medical equipments in the people’s hospitals, expansion of opening hospitals, upgrading and the universal healthcare coverage to implement the ministry’s strategic plans of enabling every citizen to attain full life expectancy and enjoy longevity of life and ensuring that every citizen is free from diseases.
Out of 1178 hospitals under the Ministry of Health across the nation, there are 133 hospitals in Ayeyarwady Region. Apart from 8 station hospitals which are under construction or still requirement of building, all hospitals are regularly operating and average of 3,000 in-patients per day are being provided medical service.
Next, the Chief Minister congratulated for enabling to opened new extended hospital building and urged to put collective efforts for the sustainable development of the hospital and to become a hospital earned the trust of the people.
After expressing words of thanks by the Township medical head officer Dr. Min Thein, the ceremony was concluded. Then, the union minister, chief minister and officials viewed the new hospital building and patients ward, comforted the patients and provided foodstuff, met with the hospital supporting group members and health personnel and gave a remark, it’s learnt.
