Opening Ceremony of 22nd CAEXPO: PM delivered an address at the opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit was held, in the morning on September 17, at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center in Nanning.

The Prime Minister U Nyo Saw attended and delivered a speech. The ceremony was attended by Vice President of the People's Republic of China Mr. Han Zheng; vice presidents, deputy prime ministers, and union ministers from ASEAN member states, delegation leaders from Sri Lanka and Ethiopia which are this year’s special partner countries, the Ambassador of Myanmar to the People’s Republic of China and the Consul General of Myanmar in Nanning, heads of departments and responsible officials, leaders and officials from the People’s Republic of China, ASEAN countries, and invited countries; and business entrepreneurs.

First, the Prime Minister arrived at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, where the ceremony was held. He was greeted by the Vice President of the People’s Republic of China, and they took a group photo together with the vice presidents, deputy prime ministers, and ministers from ASEAN member states attending the ceremony. At the ceremony, Mr. Chen Gang, Secretary of the CPC Committee, the Vice Minister of Commerce of China, and the Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) delivered opening remarks, followed by an opening speech by the Vice President of the People’s Republic of China.

Then, the Prime Minister U Nyo Saw expressed his honor and delight to attend and address such a special and significant event as Myanmar is participating as the Country of Honour at the China-ASEAN Expo this year. He noted that such exhibitions deepen the strategic partnership between China and ASEAN member states and serve as an important platform for cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism, contributing to the further development of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.

He expressed his belief that the China-ASEAN Expo will strengthen trade, economic, and industrial cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, fostering long-term regional development and mutual benefits. He emphasized that Myanmar highly values close collaboration with regional partner countries in trade, economy, and investment. He mentioned that AI technology is being used by business entrepreneurs in some sectors in Myanmar, and Myanmar will participate with 120 exhibition booths, including displays of rice, various pulses, corn, sesame, food products, Safe Health AI technology exhibitions, handicrafts, gemstones, and jewelry, as well as Myanmar’s "City of Charm" exhibition hall.

Following this, speeches were delivered by Vice President of Laos, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, Secretary-General of ASEAN. A commemorative video clip for the 22nd CAEXPO, created with AI, was also shown.

Subsequently, the Prime Minister, together with the Vice President of the People’s Republic of China and leaders from ASEAN countries, officially opened the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit Forum using a digital key.

After that, the Prime Minister and the Vice President of the People’s Republic of China enjoyed a cultural dance performance by a Kachin traditional cultural troupe and pressed a button to open Myanmar’s national exhibition hall, designated as the "City of Charm," featuring Myitkyina.

It is reported that the Prime Minister and his delegation then toured Myanmar’s national exhibition hall and the exhibition booths representing Myanmar at the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo.
