Lebanese American religious leaders are urging solidarity in the wake of a massive explosion that left much of Beirut covered in dust and debris on Tuesday. Father Dominique Hanna, the director of Our Lady of Lebanon in New York says his sister called him immediately after news of the blast got out, assuring him she and her children were safe.

With a city and country hurting, Hanna urges anyone who has friends or relatives in Beirut to show unconditional support to their loved ones over the phone. A prayer service and collection are scheduled at Our Lady of Lebanon on August 9.
