North Korea's Kim talks up defense ties as Russia trip

On Sunday, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un left Russia on his armored train, ending a visit affirming close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin. 

Kim's extended tour of Russia's far eastern region, which began on Tuesday, has focused extensively on military matters, with his own entourage dominated by officers, a symbolic exchange of rifles with Russian President and a tour of a fighter jet factory in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

Kim spent six days in Russia and his first official visit abroad since the coronavirus pandemic.
