North Korea raps planned US missile sale to South Korea

North Korea has condemned a US plan to sell weapons to South Korea. A spokesperson for North Korea's foreign ministry announced the criticism on Thursday in remarks carried by the country's state-run Korean Central News Agency.

The US State Department on August 21, its determination to approve a potential sale of more than 100 air-to-air missiles to South Korea. The North's spokesperson said these acts "add a new threat to the security sphere" of North Korea, and "create instability in the social system" of the country."
