China reiterated on Wednesday that it had always shared all relevant COVID-19 information with the rest of the world.
The country’s top Covid-19 expert said “All the strains of COVID-19 that have been found and have produced cases in China have been reported to WHO and the international community” and there were "no new variants in China that are worthy of attention and concern”.
The country is now facing a surge in cases and hospitalization in major cities and is bracing for a further spread into less developed areas with the start of the Lunar New Year travel rush, set to accelerate in the coming days.
