
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, in his New Year’s Greetings, called for cooperation of all entire people for stability, development and presperity of the state, achieving peace and emergence of a united country based on democracy and federal system.
The Senior General stated that the year 2021 is an important year for the country, facing many challenges throughout the year. Tatmadaw serves the tasks for the interest of the nation and its people in accordance with the responsibilities assigned by the constitution.
The government will continue to work in solidarity with the ethnic people to make the country more stable, peaceful and prosperous and to ensure food security. The Senior General urged all to build a prosperous nation with the strength of unity.
He also highlighted the target for COVID-19 vaccination. Plans have been made for 50% coverage of vacciantion in 2021, and over 51% of people aged over 18 and 87% of students aged over 12 have completed vaccination. Efforts are being made for locally produce vaccine and it could provide cent percent coverage to the targeted group.
He also pointed that the upcoming 12th February 2022 is Diamond Anniversary Union Day, and the 4th January is the Pre-year of Diamond Anniversary Independence Day. It is important to fully equipped with the fruitful results for strengthening of 75-year tenury of sovereignty.
The Senior General called for peace dialogues with all concerned organizations for new chapter of peace process, and it has already been mentioned in the 5-point roadmap.
