


Myanmar Post issues a new special stamp for the month of Waso on Tuesday.
The Central Post Office has been disseminating a series of postal stamps and covers marking the images of Myanmar traditional festivals and seasonal famous flowers.
The new stamp at a price of 200 kyats is described the images of novitiation ceremony of Myanmar people and Pone Nyat flower blooming in the month of Waso.
Philatelist, Khin Maung Thint said “I’ve been collecting the stamps since 1989 as a memory. I have studied about the stamps as well since my student life. Issuing the stamps is focused on the significant occasions. This newly stamp is focused on Myanmar traditional festivals and seasonal flowers. After the year, it will be an album for the next generations. Collecting stamps can support to learning of history.”
The stamp-collectors gather the new postage stamps in the first day covers, other related papers and envelopes in every new postage stamp arise.
The postage stamps and first day covers bought on 2nd of June can be stamped mark and date at the Central Post Offices of Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay as the special activity.
It is learnt that the Central Post Office will issue next series of postal stamps with different themes in coming years.
