New Community Center in Taunggyi: MoI Union Minister attends opening ceremony

The new building of Community Center (Taunggyi) in Shan State was opened with a ceremony at the Taunggyi District Information and Public Relations Department on Monday.

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Shan State Chief Minister Dr. Kyaw Tun, the Commander of Eastern Command and a community elder formally opened the new building of Community Center.

On the occasion, the Union Minister gave a speech, saying that the newly opened community center is facilitated with the SarpayBeikman book shop, the children’s reading room, mini-museum, public library, meeting room, computer room, training room, gymnasium and multi-purpose hall.

It will be a place for the people to gain general knowledge and it is a suitable place for the youths to expand their education network and to become good leaders in future. The Union Minister emphasized on systematic maintenance the community centre in accordance with the characteristics of the city where the public can access data information for study and research work.

The Shan State Chief Minister gave a speech and the community elder spoke words of thanks. The Union Minister then presented MRTV DVB-D2 Set Top Boxes for the families of the stations of Eastern Command and the people in Shan State through the State Chief Minister and the Commander.

The Union Minister, the Chief Minister, the Commander and official then presented certificates of honour to well-wishers who contributed in the construction of Community Center.

The Director General of MRTV also presented DHT satellites for the Shan State Government and an official from Myanma Kyal Sin Lin Company handed over the documents relating to the Community Center to the Director General of Information and Public Relations Department.

The Union Minister and party viewed around the new community center. In the afternoon of that day, the Union Minister inspected Jasmine Taunggyi digital cinema that is known as formerly Myoma Cinema.
