Nepal suspends labor approvals for 12 gulf countries

Amid heightened tensions in West Asia and the Gulf region, the Government of Nepal has temporarily suspended labor approvals for countries in those areas. The Department of Foreign Employment said labor approvals for all other destination countries are continuing as usual.

The suspension is intended to ensure the safety of Nepali workers. According to the Department of Foreign Employment, labor approvals have been suspended for 12 countries: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkiye, and Israel.
