NDSC Order No.7/2025 : Amnesty granted to Dr. Aye Maung

The National Defense and Security Council issued an Order No. 7/2025 on Thursday for the Order of Amnesty.

The Acting President, in exercising the authority conferred under Section 204(b) of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and with the recommendation of the National Defense and Security Council, has granted amnesty to Dr. Aye Maung, who was previously convicted and sentenced by the Sittwe District Court under Criminal Case No. 9/2018: Penal Code Section 505(b), and Criminal Case No. 3/2018: Penal Code Section 122(1). Dr. Aye Maung had already been released under a previous amnesty by the Chairman of the State Administration Council. 

In granting this full pardon, it is affirmed that Dr. Aye Maung has expressed a firm and unwavering commitment to upholding the non-disintegration of the union, non-disintegration of the national solidarity and perpetuation of the sovereignty. He has pledged to actively participate in building a genuine, disciplined democracy and a federal Union, in line with the nation’s aspirations.

Accordingly, all his remaining charges and sentences have been fully pardoned. The order was signed bySenior General Min Aung Hlaing, Acting President.
