Naval Visit: Russian Study Ship Perekop Anchored In Myanmar

The Perekop, Russian Navy Training Ship is paying a 3-day visit to Myanmar in kind of enhancing bilateral friendship between the two entities.

Under the command of 2nd rank Captain Vladimir Cherokov, the training ship’s visit is from 13th to 15th of November with the anchorage in Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa (MITT) Sea Port.

During the visit, the Embassy of the Russian Federation allowed the public for excursion on Thursday. The concerned officials, organizations, groups and individuals made a study on the board occasion.

Older Sailor, Roman Iskandarov said "My reason to be here is to make practices and make some cruises of the using navigational weapon."

The Perekop has 7,270 tons of total displacement and making navigation practice, sealing practices and maritime practices using the weapons by hundreds of instructors and cadets on the board.

Older Sailor, Roman Iskandarov said "Perekop is a study ship. This can get a battle. This ship is already for to make a battle. But firstly this ship is for studying to get a practice. Because the cadets are officers in the future. The officers on another ship and cadets want to have high level skills in navigation." 

The Perekop has visited ports of numerous countries by carrying out the planned tasks of a long voyage in sea and ocean cruises.
