26th Myanmar-Thailand Case Management Meeting on Return and Reintegration of Victims of Human Trafficking took place on Friday.

The Permanent Secretary of Thailand’s Ministry of Social Development and Human Security said although two countries cooperated online during the outbreak of COVID-19, it received positive outcomes. It has been about 10 years and Thailand and Myanmar worked as model countries and it reaches the 26th meeting now.

The Director-General of the Rehabilitation Department discussed that in the 21st century, human trafficking has developed into one of the most terrifying forms of slavery, a social problem that affects all parts of the world. Although most of the victims were women and children, the number of men is increasing today.

Myanmar and Thailand face such problems as other countries. He pledged the country will cooperate in the fight against human trafficking and protection services. The meeting also discussed the implementations based on the facts of the 25th meeting.
