Union Minister for Labour U Maung Myint received Ambassador Mr. Maziad Mohammed Maziad M. Alhowishan and officials from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based in Yangon at the Union Minister’s reception hall on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the Union Minister expressed his confidence that bilateral cooperation in the labor sector would yield mutual benefits. He explained that when sending Myanmar workers abroad, the ministry considers entering into agreements only after carefully evaluating the host country's existing laws, wage standards, living conditions, and cost of living.

He further emphasized that cooperation between the two nations plays a vital role, as Myanmar prioritizes ensuring that its citizens fully receive labor rights and competitive wages. He added that both sides will cooperate to establish a systematic dispatch system, ensuring that Myanmar workers traveling to Saudi Arabia can work safely and enjoy their full rights and entitlements.
