






Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with President of the Russian Federation H.E Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow on Thursday.
During the meeting, the Russian President stated that diplomatic relations between the two countries have existed for over 70 years, and many agreements had been signed between the two countries. He further mentioned that detailed discussions would be held to ensure the continued implementation of these agreements.
In his turn, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman stated that the two Armies relations continue based on close friendship and cooperation. He affirmed his belief that every country has the right to defend itself if its sovereignty or the interests of people are threatened, and expressed support for Russia’s efforts toward achieving lasting peace.
He also said that a free and fair multi-party democratic general election would be held in the near future, and upon its successful completion, state responsibilities would be handed over in accordance with democratic standards.
And, both sides held open and cordial discussions on matters related to further enhancing the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The discussion covered a wide range of sectors, including the peaceful use of nuclear energy, investment, electric power, health and pharmaceutical production, agriculture, education, strengthening defense cooperation, and other areas of mutual interest.
