Moscow scientists trial robot cleaner to fight virus

A robot designed to disinfect buildings to keep them free of coronavirus was put through its paces at a museum in Russia on Tuesday. The device, named UltraBot, uses high-dosage ultraviolet light to destroy the virus. Disinfecting against the virus is usually done using costly and hard-to-use aerosol disinfectants, or ultraviolet technology.

But recent developments in many countries involve robots capable of destroying the membranes of viruses and bacterial through the use of so-called heavy ultraviolet radiation. UltraBot was developed at the Laboratory of Intellectual and Space Robotics in a city in Russia.
