More heavy snow forecast for regions along Sea of Japan coast. Weather officials are calling for caution over more heavy snowfall expected on the Sea of Japan side from western to northern Japan through Friday. They said snow may also blanket some flatlands along the Pacific.

The Japan Meteorological Agency said a strong winter pressure pattern near the Japanese archipelago is bringing heavy snow to the Sea of Japan side. Officials said that as a strong cold air mass flows in, snowfall will intensify in the Tohoku region as well as on the Sea of Japan side of western to eastern Japan through Friday.
