Moldova offers tests and jabs to Ukraine refugees

Meanwhile, Moldovan authorities are providing free coronavirus testing and vaccination for refugees from Ukraine. At the main welcome centre in the capital Chisinau, anyone can receive one of the many available COVID-19 vaccines.

But many of the Ukrainians coming to the country have already received their jabs, according to local authorities. According to the health ministry, Moldova has reported over half a million cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, with around 11,000 deaths.

Moldova is a small Eastern Europe country with around 2.5 million people and is coping with an influx of tens of thousands of people since the beginning of the conflict.
