Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Emirati President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Friday, during a visit to the United Arab Emirates.

Modi said keeping the Strait of Hormuz "free, open and safe" is India's "highest priority", adding that "India has always given priority to dialogue and diplomacy for resolving problems". India, the world's third-largest oil buyer, normally sources about half of its crude through the Strait of Hormuz, which has been largely blocked by Iran since the war began in late February.
