Efforts are being made to modernize railway services, improve safety and environmental conditions, and create a cleaner and more attractive travel experience for passengers.

Railway upgrades and corridor maintenance are considered important for strengthening regional connectivity, supporting economic development, and encouraging greater use of rail transport across Myanmar.

On Saturday, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung traveled by RBE train from Mandalay Central Railway Station to Yamethin Station to inspect railway transport services and assess cleanliness and beautification efforts along the railway corridor.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister instructed officials to improve passenger convenience, prevent unauthorized settlements along railway land, reduce illegal dumping, clear overgrown vegetation, and enhance greenery along the rail route.

He also called for coordination among relevant departments to support these initiatives. As part of ongoing greening efforts, Myanma Railways plans to plant 32,000 shade and windbreak trees between Mandalay and Ywa Pale, while the Dry Zone Greening Department will plant 500 saplings along the Wundwin–Thaetaw railway section.
