Mitigation Measures: MOH Union Minister outlines preparation measures

Union Minister for Health Prof. Dr. Thet Khaing Win attended a meeting on preparation of health sector for natural disasters and infectious diseases occurred during the rainy season” on Friday.

The Union Minister instructed to continue carrying out necessary measures by forming and training emergency response teams in advance for natural disasters and outbreaks of infectious diseases.

The Union Minister also stressed the needs for preparing medical supplies, equipment and emergency medical kits. He further strengthened the supervision and management system for medicines, medical supplies, and equipment so that they can be utilized more effectively and efficiently.

He also urged public hospitals to continue conducting advance preparations and simulation exercises so that life-saving treatment for emergency patients can be carried out more effectively.

The Union Minister added that the health complications of the natural disasters and preparations must be carried out in cooperation with respective organizations under the leadership of respective State and Regional Government organizations. Attendees later reports on the work undertakings, difficulties and suggestions related to ongoing preparations and counter responsive processes.
