Mexico holds first earthquake drill of the year

Mexico City held a national earthquake drill on Monday, the first one to take place in the city using COVID-19 measures. As quake alarms sounded, police officers and civil protection workers led hundreds of people from public buildings and offices out to safe areas. The drill was carried out based on a scenario of a magnitude 8.1 earthquake with an epicenter of 30km, 4 km south of Papayo, Guerrero, with a very strong perception in Mexico City. According to Mexico City authorities, 6 million people participated in the drill, and about 99% of the city's loudspeakers worked.
